My medium can vary. This website is an exploration of media. Web images, ink jet prints, traditional color prints and slides, prints on transparency film, silver gelatin prints, alternative processes (Van Dyke Brown, Cyanotype, etc.) are the simplest. But I'm also working on emulsion lifts from ink jet prints onto paper, Yupo, aluminum, epoxy resin, and other substrates, in multiple layers combined with other painting or printing techniques.
Hi! I'm Barry Cunningham, a retired mathematically trained software engineer. My dad bought me a Yashica A twin lens reflex in 1958 for my 10th birthday because I was monopolizing his cameras during our vacations. I photographed with it for years. I took darkroom classes during my college years. In the mid-1980s I had extensive experience programming image processing applications. I am most interested in combining analog and digital printing and processing techniques to create unique images.
